McKenzie Pond is the premier bouldering destination in the Adirondacks. There are a just over a dozen main boulders and several others with good potential for new routes. The setting is a beautiful mixed forest very close to the road and almost all routes have safe landings. The rock is of good quality and has an abundance of large crystals for good holds. The area is organized into three main "sets" or clusters of boulders lined up in order from the approach trail. While there are problems of all difficulties, there is an abundance in the easy to moderate range. All of these factors make McKenzie Pond a very popular destination, so expect company.
